2013/2014 Season ends on a Winning Note

Ware Rebels completed their final national league fixture of the 2013/2014 on Saturday, when the U16 Boys defeated Enfield Scorpions 87-56 at Wodson Park.

The U16 Boys finished with a 10-8 record in only their 2nd season of National League basketball, and the future looks promising for this ever improving team.

The Senior Men finished with an 11-11 record in the clubs 2nd season back in National League action after re-forming in 2012.

The club now embarks on the preparations for the 2014/2015 season, plans and announcements will be made shortly.

Lastly, the whole of the Rebels Family would like to thanks everyone who has supported the club this year, we hope that you have a good summer and look forward to seeing you all again next season.

Rebels looking to finish 2013 in style

Ware Rebels Basketball Club’s U16 Boys and Senior Men’s teams will be looking to round off 2013 in style this weekend as they go into their final weekend of league action before the christmas break.

On Saturday, Rebels Men will be looking to snap a 3 game losing streak as they take on West Anglia Fury at the CWA Sports Campus. Rebels won their home fixture against Fury in the first game of the season with a ‘Buzzer Beating’ 3-Pointer.

Rebels U16 Boy’s take on Ipswich Basketball on Sunday at Wodson Park, looking to get revenge for a narrow 2 point loss in the cup back in November. Under manned on that occasion, Rebels will be looking to continue their good run in front of their home fans at Wodson Park.

Winning Weekend for Rebels

Ware Rebels U16 Boys made it 3 victoires out of 3 this weekend for the club as they defeated Oxford Hoops 69-50 in the 1st round of the Sureshot U16 National Cup at Wodson Park on Sunday afternoon.

The previous day, both the senior men and U16 Boy’s made road trips to Essex. The U16 boys were victorious over Colchester Jammers 107-34 at Braintree College whilst the Senior men defeated Southend Scorpions 56-51at Southend Tennis and Leisure Centre.

Double Defeat for Rebels

Ware Rebels suffered a double defeat on Sunday as the U16 Boys narrowly lost their England Basketball League Midlands East Conference fixture with Bucks Hornets at Wodson Park going down 55-62.

The senior men suffered an even closer defeat, losing their VCARS.co.uk Basketball League Division 4 South East fixture against London Westside ll 62-65.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back next week, the U16 boys have a double header weekend, away to Colchester Jammers on Saturday before entertaining Oxford Hoops in the Sureshot National Cup whilst the senior men are on the road, taking on Southend Scorpions at the Southend Tennis and Leisure Centre.

Rebels U16 Boys lose pre season exhibition game to Hertfordshire Warriors

Ware Rebels U16 Boys were defeated 56-86 in their Pre-Season Exhibition fixture at Hertfordshire Warriors on Saturday 28th September. Next up for the U16 Boys are Northamptonshire Titans at Wodson Park Sports Centre on Sunday 6th October, tip off 1.30pm.

Rebels Senior Men started off their VCARS.co.uk Basketball League Division 4 South East campaign with a 74-72 win over West Anglia Fury on a Buzzer Beating 3 from Ali Miller. Rebels are next in action on Sunday 6th October away to London United.

Rebels U16 Boys are in pre season action tomorrow when they take on Hertfordshire Warriors at Queens School, before starting the Midlands East Conference campaign on Sunday 6th October against Northamptonshire Titans at Wodson Park.

Ware Rebels Senior Men will again compete in the VCARS.co.uk Basketball League Division 4 South-East during the 2013-2014 season. Rebels will play 22 league fixtures, both home and away as well as 1 pre-season friendly against Oaklands College Wolves onSaturday 14th September.

Rebels kick off their league campaign at home to College of West Anglia Fury on Saturday 22nd September, tip off 4.00pm.
